Parkside History

One spring, four different, but complementary, individuals gathered to discuss a shared vision—assemble talented thought leaders to establish a financial institution that could breathe new life into business banking and wealth management. Throughout their extensive careers, they had recognized an underserved niche.

To fill that void, they founded Parkside Financial Bank & Trust: an independent financial institution with an integrated way of conducting business, designed specifically to serve the needs of discerning families and privately held businesses.

Sabbatical Program Since 2012, Parkside has offered its employees the unique opportunity to pursue their dreams and embrace adventure outside of the bank through its 4-week sabbatical program. Since the program’s inception, Parkside employees have visited over 20 countries on 5 continents!
Internal Events Parkside is committed to providing exceptional benefits for our team members—including a rewarding and fun culture. Some of our favorite internal PFBT events are holiday parties, sports tournaments, food trucks, community service days, and family events.

David Bell

In 2019, Parkside opened its first satellite office and loan production office in Denver. David Bell, Executive Vice President, leads the team with over 20 years of hands-on experience to the Denver market. Today, our Denver team has expanded to seven team members and provides our Rocky Mountain Region clients with the full suite of services offered in St. Louis.
 
How has the Denver office grown since it’s opening in 2019? What were the contributing factors?

"Our original premise for opening the Denver office back in 2019 was based on the realization that the rapid round of bank consolidation that occurred in Colorado had left a significant hole in the market. There were no solid commercial banks left standing that focused on relationships and, more specifically, the lower middle-market segment. The market dynamics combined with building out an exceptional team of bankers and the incredible support from St. Louis is what led to the dramatic success to date."

In February 2023, Parkside opened a search fund and sponsor finance loan production office with a national focus. Zach Duprey, Senior Vice President, leads the team with a decade of experience in the search fund community.

Parkside welcomed Curtis Searcy, MBA, CFP® as President of the Trust & Family Office in June 2021. Since joining our team, Curt has helped shape our strategic direction, building a high-performing division and attracting expert talent.
 
What has been one of the biggest highlights in the TFO division since joining Parkside in 2021?

"I am very excited to be a part of Parkside’s growth story within the Trust & Family Office division. Watching our team deliver a truly unique client experience that is centered around advice and delivering outstanding service has been a highlight for me. I am very proud of the quality of work our team does and the impact it has on our clients’ financial future.
