Wire Transfer Changes Effective July 14, 2025
Recently, the Federal Reserve confirmed that its Fedwire Funds Service will adopt ISO 20022 payment messaging standard—effective July 14, 2025.
ISO 20022 is a global standard designed to enhance the security, transparency, and efficiency of domestic and international wire transfers. Parkside Financial Bank & Trust has been proactively preparing for this transition. On July 14th, your current wire templates stored in our online banking system will reflect the new ISO 20022 global standard. We kindly ask that you please carefully review each template before transmitting a wire transfer.
While the overall process of transmitting wires remains unchanged, you will notice updated terminology and field labels that align with new global standards. Below is a comparison chart outlining the current wire and the new ISO 20022 terminology.
